Finals Week Part II

Hi everyone!

It's Saturday and I am continuing to study for my finals. I have already taken four, so I have one more left on Monday. This means that my weekend will consist of studying and going to the gym for a study break. It's nice because the fitness centers change their hours to make sure that everyone who wants to go work out has the option. On the same wellness note, the library is open 24 hours a day-and people are always there. Last year, I pulled a near all-nighter at the library and the staff brought us coffee at around 2 am. Anyway- it's back to studying for me. Have a great winter vacation!!

Almost Finals

Hi everyone,

So finals are right around the corner...spooky! I've started to study for my few hard ones now. It's nice because I can have my friends over for study parties where we study and bake Holiday treats and drink Hot Chocolate. It's a good way to relax while studying. This Friday, we have Engineering Open House. This is when all the group projects are presented. There will be a freshman robot competition. (The freshman class built robots that battle for colored discs, it's way fun to watch.) Also, the super seniors are presenting their senior design projects. This is similar to a final thesis paper, but since they are engineers, they get to do a hands on project.

Well, it's time to get back to studying.

Ciao!

Things I'm thankful for

Hi friends-

so in lieu of the recent holiday, I wanted to create a photo collage of things that I am thankful for:

1. The weather: Check out the two 7 day forecasts...where would you rather be????

Sunny San Diego?

...or Chilly Chicago??

2. The Chargers: #1 in the AFC??? Heck YES!

3. The Spring Semester: I <3 Men's Club Baseball!!!! (easy on the eyes...and they are super nice as well)

So that's about it. As December rolls on in, I'm shocked to see that there are only two weeks of school remaining....then FINALS!!! {Insert Scary Music Here}

Well- that's about it.

Ciao!

Almost Vacation! Yay!

Hi friends-

So I'm just about to head up to Temecula to have lunch with my brother, but I wanted to blog about my "Friday-O-Fun."

It was the annual ISO (international student organization) dinner/dance. Even though I am a domestic student, everyone was invited to share some comradery and free food. Here are a couple pictures from the night.

As you can see, there was a ton of food and a ton of fun. USD usually has something cool going at least once a week. My friends and I always joke that there is always some group hosting an event that contains free food and fun.

In other news, the Torero Board was finalized this week, which means that we are all starting to plan Torero Days (Orientation). It is going to be off the hook, so be sure to finish up your USD application so you can join in all the fun that is USD and Torero Days.

Cheers!

Friday the 13th...oooooh

Hi friends-

So let me tell you about my amazing week.

This photo shows my friend JT. He is a senior on the men's soccer team. Last Sunday, he scored the winning goal against Gonzaga on Sunday. It was electric at Torero Stadium, especially since it was Senior Day.

Classes this week were fun. I received my midterm exam grades (not too shabby). On Tuesday, I went out with some friends to Fred's for Tacos. (On tuesday, the $8.00 tacos are only $2.00 so it's great for College Kids)

Wednesday night=COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS!!! GO TAYLOR SWIFT! (And Carrie's performance was amazing.) Good night indeed.

I hope that most of you came to our Fall Open House today. It was a ton of fun meeting some of you interested in Engineering.

Tonight is the Men's Basketball game, so I'm going with some of my friends to cheer on the Toreros to Victory!!!!!!! Ergo- I'm going to hit the gym before I head to the game.

Cheers!

Hi everyone!

So it's Thursday night and I'm studying for my Facilities Planning midterm (which is going to be pretty tough) but I wanted to take a break to blog and watch YouTube videos. So in this segment, I want to clear up any rumor that Engineers spend all their time studying. Below is a photo from last semester during "Engineers Night Out."

We all went to a Padres game together and hung out with our professors in a casual setting. At least once a semester, we all go to a ball game to relax. Also around Christmas, we have an annual White Elephant Engineering Get Together in Coronado. This is also a great way to end the Fall Semester.

On another note....GUESS WHAT???

Next Friday the 13th is Fall OPEN HOUSE! Y'all should come on down to USD and meet faculty, students, and tour the campus. This is a pretty unique aspect of USD. You go through an extended campus tour which includes a room visit with some of the Freshman resident students and then you go to lunch and meet faculty and students that are in the major you think you may want to pursue. (And Diego Torero may be there. He's kind of a big deal. Below is Diego riding a tricycle at one of our basketball games. Major Celeb!!

Anyway- guess it's time to go back and study. (Yay midterms week! LOL) See you all at Fall Open House on the 13th!

Senior Year Numero Uno

Hi y'all.

So it's my first of two senior years and I couldn't be more busy. (PS-I'm only on the 5 year because I'm double majoring and minoring. Most people get out in 4.) I'm working an internship at Hamilton Sundstrand in the Cost Reduction department, which has been taking up a lot of my time, but its an awesome job, so time flies by.

Anyway...last weekend was Fall Holiday/Parent's Weekend. This is the weekend where parents & friends come down to visit their student for the three day weekend. I ended up going to Disneyland with my two best friends, so it was a phenomenal weekend. When we got there Friday morning the park was nearly empty so we had a blast running from ride to ride. It's awesome living only an hour and a half away from Anaheim. I can get my hockey fix and my Disney fix.

I'm meeting with my adviser tomorrow to talk about registration for the Spring Semester. (That's right, it's already time to register for the next semester.) One of the huge perks of being an engineer is that I bank up enough credits to register before all of my friends.

With that, I'm off to do homework.

Ciao!
