Two Weeks until Spring Break!!!!

Hi y'all!

So it's been a super busy mid-February for me! I've been putting in a bunch of time with Torero Board, where I am in charge of the Transportation Team and one of the many social events we have. I am also working with the RAs to plan another program during Torero Days. All the board members have been working really hard to hold informationals for current students who want to be a part of all the fun.

I was also chosen to be a co-chair for Greek Week Skit Night. This is the night when all of the sororities and fraternities make up a skit (with many dance numbers) that go with the theme for Greek Week. This year, the theme is Video Games (so it should be really fun)! Below, I put the link to the winning skit from last semester's Olympic theme (which happened to be my sorority with the men of Delta Tau Delta).

Pretty awesome video, right?

Anyway- Now I'm in charge of the entire night with one other woman, so it's been a bit stressful.

I'm also in the process of looking for summer internships so I can stay in San Diego this summer. USD has this really cool thing called ToreroLink which is a huge database of employers that want to hire USD students. Some even have on-campus interviews. I put a screen shot of the site below. There are literally about 100 jobs posted each week! It's crazy!

Well- That's it for me for now.

Cheers!

Week Three of Class

Hi everyone!

It's 12:00 on Tuesday, which means its dead hours. Dead hours are anything but dead! On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 to 2:30 no one has class, so it's a great time to catch up with friends you may otherwise not see. Also, most organizations schedule meetings during dead hours so everyone can attend. I'm about five minutes away from my Torero Board meeting (Woot!)
As far as class is concerned, my Industrial Engineering lab class is doing a project with Scripps Hospital. This means that instead of sitting in a room for three hours during lab time, we go to Scripps Hospital to apply what we learned in lecture to the real world. I don't know of any other university that has such a great reputation in the city where it will hire students to do projects for them. That's one of the best parts of USD-we get real life experience without having an internship. Well- I'm off to my meeting so check back for more USD fun!

Cheers!

February Fun!!!

Hi everyone! It's a gorgeous Monday in San Diego. I spent the entire weekend on the Orientation Board Retreat with the other students on Torero Board. We are already planning for next August when USD has Torero Days. Only first year students and transfer students are on campus so you get to know the campus and meet a TON of people before classes start.

Speaking of classes, I am on my second week of Spring Classes. Right now thery aren't too bad, I have hard classes, but the professors are fantastic. I have already had coffee with one of my professors just to catch up after break. I can't think of any other school where professors know your name and want to talk to you outside of class.

Well- that's about it so far-be looking for some more fun in the upcoming week.

Cheers!
